Props / Stage Needs

Does your act need a piano?  Microphone?  Desk / table and chair?  We need to know!  Our stage crew is planning their end of the show and need some information from you in order to make the transition from one act to the next go smoothly.

Please complete the Props Needs form by clicking here.

Volunteers

It is mandatory that all participants have one parent volunteer to help with the show. In addition, many parents are needed to supervise and coordinate all facets of the production.  This is a large-scale production that needs a lot of hands and supervision to make it a success.

Security

2012 Ogden Variety Show Security

Please, keep the following in your mind and help others to keep it in their minds:

"Show security endeavors to maximize the safe fun and enjoyment of the audience, participants and cast members as an important element of the Variety Show."

To increase safety and enjoyment of all, the following structure will be in place during the show:

1. Show security will be clearly identified with a special hat and photo badge.

2. Only the auditorium, the lunchroom and the hallways in between will be used. The remainder of the school is closed and will be patrolled by security.

3. Check-in and check-out procedures will be in place for the Cast Members. Proper check-out procedure will allow Cast Members to be released to their parents/guardians.

>>The lunchroom has controlled access. Invisible hand-stamps will be used for all cast members and their parents/guardians for fast admittance in to the lunchroom.

>>For each Cast Member, the Table Parent will manage check-in and check-out. The Table Parent will ensure each child is released to the proper parent/guardian.

>>All Cast Members will remain “checked-in” before & after their performance. A live transmission (with sound) of the show will be provided in the lunchroom. Washrooms are inside the lunchroom. Tables and seats are provided for all.

>>Check-out is scheduled twice: a) at intermission and b) at the end of the show. Act 1 Cast Members may be checked out at intermission.  NOTE: Both Act 1 and Act 2 will be invited to a final "curtain call" with everyone on stage.

>>Cast Members not in the current act will remain checked-in.  These Cast Members may choose to sit in a controlled, marked section on the floor (no seats)
in front of the stage. This area is for Cast Members only. These children remain checked-in.

>>Check-out will only happen in the lunchroom.

4.  Washrooms are inside the lunchroom for Cast Members, and in the back of the auditorium for others.

5.  The doors on each side of the stage may only be used by Cast Members and their parents / guardians.

6.  Alcohol and tobacco in all forms are prohibited.

7. In the building, serious security issues are under the jurisdiction of the village of Lagrange Park. In the parking lot, serious security issues are under the jurisdiction of the village of La Grange.  We will refer these issues to 911.

For any questions and comments on show security, please contact Tim Kelpsas @ 708-927-4682, or @ timkelpsas@yahoo.com.
