PSCC Resource Spotlight

The Positive School Climate Committee regularly provides varied resources to Ogden’s community of families on topics of bullying, tolerance and character.

This Mother's Day, the PSCC Resource Spotlight is on a unique and empowering resource for Moms called Brave Girl University. We all know that healthy, refreshed moms greatly empower our community and children. Take a look, you will be glad you did.

Previous Spotlights: 

  • Disney film, "Zootopia". This 3-star movie provides an excellent opening to discuss tolerance, stereotypes and bullying with your kids.
  • Theatre of Western Springs High School Repertory May 13, 2016 production of Afternoon of the Elves. A great experience for families, this is a poignant story about tolerance, friendship and acceptance that teaches powerful life lessons. Glenbard Parenting Series (GPS)

GPS is a nationally-recognized, outstanding resource for parents, educators and community members that encourages conversation around the unique issues facings families today. It is a consortium dedicated to presenting distinguished, engaging speakers who share their knowledge, cutting-edge research and life experiences. Glenbard Parent Series programs are free and open to the public.


This important film looks at the expectations culture and media place on boys in terms of what it means to "be a man”, looks at the negative consequences for our boys and aspires to change the way we raise them. This film is most appropriate for parents of 5th grade boys and older.
